Metallurgical Fire I loved Rites of Absolution, but Morbid Prophecy’s anemic production kicked me out. The Bleeding are back in top form with Monokrator, their best effort by far. These guys take everything up a notch or ten with this highly energetic and destructive whirlwind of riffs. The influences from thrash, early death metal, and 1st wave black metal are ever present, but the band still sounds fresh. Never a dull moment. Favorite track: Screams of Torment.

sashavonkarl74 Super-fast blackened DM with raw vocals, like scratching your skin with a meat-grinder plate, know what I mean? overwhelming full-frontal attack nuclear wave, sharp, not repetitive, and groovy at times, with lots of tempo changes to keep things flowing well. Favorite track: Chainsaw Deathcult.

hammersmashedgaming Genuinely one of my surprise favorite releases this year. It's as if Cannibal Corpse and Demolition Hammer got smushed into an original, neck-breaking sound. Perfectly thrashy, and brutally death metal in all the right areas. Nearly every song has a melting breakdown perfect for destroying what's left of your neck in headbangs. Favorite track: Screams of Torment.
